I am flesh of my people, and its traditions live in me. In this painting, I wanted to convey a sense of secret continuity across time, as well as a synthesis of cultural codes and the natural beauty represented by the symbolic figure of the bee. The center of the composition is emphasized by a vertical form, visually echoing the silhouette of traditional attire. In this stylized depiction, the figure of the bee acquires the appearance of a graceful young woman, crowned with a magnificent saukele—a traditional bridal headdress. Vivid, saturated colors reflect the festivity of the moment and the cheerfulness of nature.
